The HCDP believes in building an America where everyone has a fair shot and plays by the same rules, an economy that works for all, not just the wealthy few.
Democrats value protecting civil rights, expanding access to healthcare, investing in public education, addressing climate change, and defending workers’ rights.
We support strengthening democracy, safeguarding voting rights, and promoting social and economic justice for every Person, regardless of race, gender, or background.

Active in six organizing spaces and running a TikTok dedicated to community involvement, she is committed to building collective power and supporting others in making change. Formerly a veterinary nurse and now a stay-at-home mom, She brings care and persistence to both parenting and activism, with a focus on creating a better future for all.
Jessica Hampton

Jessica Hampton is a Chattanooga native and MTSU journalism grad who believes everyone deserves the chance to be happy, healthy, and financially secure. A runstreaker, gardener, and unapologetic bumper sticker collector, she enjoys Tennessee’s trails and time with her teens, whose passion for politics inspires her to work toward a fairer, kinder future for all.
Paul Hendricks

Originally from Florida, he lived in Hamilton County for 32 years, and is married to Snoda M. W. Hendricks with two children. A retired family physician and former County Health Officer during COVID. Long-time participant in Democratic politics, starting with Jimmy Carter's first campaign. Paul’s past roles include State Political Chair for the North Carolina Sierra Club, Signal Mountain Town Council member (including two years as Mayor). He has held various HCDP positions and now represents District 2.
Neely Adams

Neely is a native Chattanoogan, a proud alumnus of CSAS and UTK, and a local business owner. Neely works in commercial construction and is also an adjunct faculty member of UTC. Besides work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, reading, hiking, and sailing. Neely also helps keep HCDP’s digital platform working and linked together, as well as serves as a district 3 representative from Middle Valley.
Deg Ronilo

Deg Ronilo has lived in Chattanooga since 2019 with his wife, Carla. He has lived in California, Texas, and Mississippi, and he now calls Hixson home. He graduated from the University of Texas-Austin in 2009 with a BA in Rhetoric and Writing and US History. He currently works in Logistics Safety.

She has led multimillion-dollar development initiatives, strengthened global partnerships, and advanced workforce strategies. Kanika is committed to cross-sector collaboration, community impact, and driving sustainable growth across business and public sectors.

Matt Johnson is a father, husband, and proud Chattanooga resident. A UTC graduate and longtime community organizer, he’s spent the past decade managing campaigns across Hamilton County. Passionate about electing strong Democratic leaders and building grassroots power, Matt is honored to serve as the District 6 Executive Committeeman for the Hamilton County Democratic Party.
Lori Kyle

Lori Kyle works in Behavioral Health case management and brings creativity to everything she does. At 51, she returned to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to study Business and Data Analytics. A lifelong activist, she represents District 6 on the Hamilton County Democratic Party, volunteers actively, and founded Red Bank for Diversity and Inclusion, championing equity and community empowerment.

Glenn Scruggs

Glenn Scruggs, a proud Chattanooga native, served over 29 years with the Chattanooga Police Department, retiring as Executive Chief of Police. He now works in Corporate Security & Safety for a Fortune 500 company. Glenn holds a BBA from Belhaven University and an MPA from Columbia Southern University. He and his wife, Starla, have been married 24 years and share a son, Jalen.
Joshua Wichman

Joshua Wichman is an artist and community-focused professional passionate about conservation, creativity, and the outdoors. With experience in leadership and a passion for the environment, he hopes to be a part of meaningful conservation work in Chattanooga. His pursuits include abstract painting, photography, storytelling, and being outdoors, on trails and in natural spaces.
Devin Chapnick

Devin is a father, small business owner, and longtime hospitality professional. His years in the service industry shaped his belief in community, hard work, and genuine enthusiasm. After settling in East Ridge, TN, he is eager to give back and help build a stronger, more inclusive future for his neighbors and community.

A former government worker, Stephany now spends her days gardening, traveling, and engaging in political activism. Frustrated by leaders’ indifference to everyday residents and their loyalty to corporate interests, She works to inspire and support community members to run for local office and champion policies that truly serve the people.

Beverly Gallagher, a Coding Manager, who enjoys studying history. When I'm not working, you can find me visiting old local historical sites or having picnics with my granddaughter. I'm always looking for cool people to hang out with and finding new spy novels to read!

Nicole McDermid

Nicole McDermid is a military master planner with AtkinsRéalis and a certified dog behavior specialist, running her own company, Dog Deeper. She co-founded the New Suffragettes, a local women’s rights organization, and managed campaigns for Elect Missy Crutchfield for State Senate and a school board race. Nicole enjoys hiking Chattanooga’s scenic trails, boating on the Tennessee River, volunteering in her community, and spending time with her dogs.

Chris Anderson is a former Chattanooga City Councilmember and currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the Mayor for Legislative Initiatives in the Office of Mayor Tim Kelly. In this role, he leads efforts to reform city ordinances, focusing on improving housing access and streamlining government regulations. He is also an advocate for inclusive policy and Democratic values, and continues to lead with a commitment to progress and community-based leadership. Chris is currently serving his 18th year as a member of the TNDP State Executive Committee.
